Hi-tech Congress Centre is set within a rare 1950s listed modernist building in the heart of London's West End. The venue is now one of central London’s leading conference and events venues, following an extensive refurbishment a few years ago.
Set within an architecturally-renowned modernist building, Congress Centre is located in a very central location, moments from Tottenham Court Road Underground Station and a short walk from Oxford Street, Covent Garden and Soho. It has a contemporary interior and the very latest hi-tech equipment, with unrivalled branding opportunities courtesy of plasma screens and coloured LED lighting.
The main space at the venue - Congress Hall - has a stunning original 1950s space-frame glass ceiling which lets in natural light without glare, and benefits from air conditioning, a timber sprung floor and a large contemporary stage. The hall has been fitted with the very latest hi-tech equipment including an 18ft drop-down screen, a 32-channel digital sound desk and digital HD projection, along with WiFi, 100mg broadband and a sophisticated intelligent lighting system to create the perfect backdrop for your event. Exceptionally versatile, the hall is ideal for a wide range of events and accommodates up to 500 theatre style or 850 for a standing reception. The venue boasts 16 further rooms and suites suitable for smaller events.
Congress Centre is ideal for a wide range of events from conferences, AGMs, exhibitions and meetings, to product launches, awards dinners, fine dining, film premiere parties, fashion shows and other special events. The standard of food and service at the venue is first class, and a dedicated account manager is on hand to help and support you every step of the way. Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance, which explains why a high proportion of clients return time and time again.
Over the last few years the venue has hosted events for Apple, Microsoft, Coutts Private Banking, Hobbs, John Lewis, Sainsbury's, Samsung and many other high profile clients.
“With high quality AV facilities, one of the largest screens in the city, and tailored delegate packages at reasonable rates, the Congress Centre is an obvious choice for large-scale corporate conferences in central London. We are delighted to be returning to the venue again this year.” Matt Walker, Event Organiser, Digital Television Group
“Congress Centre is the perfect venue for our London LinkLove conference as it is in such a central location which makes it really easy to get to on public transport. Congress Hall has an amazing 1950s original space-frame ceiling which lets in natural light so delegates don’t feel like they’re stuck underground for the day, and the great stage set and range of hi-tech equipment there mean that we don’t need to hire in anything extra. The venue also provides excellent service with a dedicated account manager always on hand to offer help and support.” Lynsey Little, Events Manager at Distilled
“Congress Centre was chosen for its central location and its flexibility of space. We needed to accommodate not only a plenary session but five individual interactive breakout zones and we achieved this with great success thanks to a creative use of the space. The staff at the venue couldn’t have been more helpful and their careful attention to detail helped ensure that the event ran smoothly from start to finish." John Cornley, Managing Director, Touch Worldwide (event for Starbucks)
“Congress Centre was a superb venue for our event because of its central location, large air conditioned ‘daylight’ hall and hi-tech facilities. The Congress Centre team pulled out all the stops to ensure the event went 100% smoothly.” Lizzie Randall, Events Manager, Internet Advertising Bureau
“We’ve chosen Congress Centre for the event [the launch of a new James Bond book] as it is very well located in London’s West End only moments from public transport. The venue is also very interesting architecturally, being a 1950s’ listed building, with lots of hi-tech features which are a perfect backdrop for a Bond novel.” Mary Fulton, Event Organiser
“We were looking for a slightly more unusual venue than a conference hotel for this event and Congress Centre was ideal as it is both individual and slightly quirky with good facilities, in-house AV and a very central London location. Becky Eydes, Event Producer at JB Events felt the team were simply excellent both pre-event and especially on-site and I could not fault their service, professionalism and friendliness. The fact that their office is based down on the conference floor next to the organiser’s office meant that it was always easy to contact them. They were very responsive and we didn’t have to wait for anything we asked for.” Amanda Glasgow, Event Manager, Microsoft
“The event was a great success and the results have given Sainsbury’s a fresh insight into the minds of the noughties teenager. We were looking for a large modern venue for this event in a very accessible location and Congress Centre was a great choice. It’s an impressive daylight venue only a few minutes’ walk from the tube in the heart of London’s West End and the service and attention to detail the team provided ensured the event ran smoothly.” Louisa Cook, Event Manager, Powwow Events
Congress Centre was included in Time Out Magazine’s list of “20 Great Buildings” to visit during the Open House London Event as it is “an excellent example of 1950s architecture and one of the most significant post-war listed buildings in London. Its features include sculptures by Jacob Epstein and Bernard Meadows.” Time Out
