BMA House At Central London

BMA House is perfectly situated in the fashionable Bloomsbury area of central London, between Kings Cross, St Pancras, Euston and Russell Square stations with excellent road links, accessibility to Heathrow via Paddington and with Europe via Eurostar. Home to the British Medical Association since 1925, the house was designed by the famed architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, and was once the residence of Charles Dickens, where he is said to have written some of his most famous novels. In 2008 the house underwent significant development creating five impressive and versatile new event spaces, all of which retain their original Grade II listed features.

With red brick, Corinthian columns and grand archways BMA House is perfect for your event. 21 purpose built meeting rooms are on offer, including the splendid Prince’s Room accessed from a unique art deco hallway, an ornate space with intricately painted gold leaf. The flagship Great Hall stands 28 feet high with luxurious retractable seating, state of the art audio visual equipment and full black out facilities. Delegate microphones and voting system are also available. Award winning catering is provided on site, offering a variety of menus and wines from fine dining to working lunches. BMA House also boasts a courtyard and garden offering tranquil outdoor space so rarely found in London.

The beautiful Prince’s Room is perfect for fine dining for up to 60 guests and cocktail parties for 90, and the remarkable Great Hall provides an impressive setting for a formal dinner for 200 or cocktail party for 320, and can host conferences for up to 300 theatre style.

Equally impressive, the Lutyens Suite comprises of the Sir James Paget Room featuring Spanish Mahogany pillars and the John Snow Room a spacious room with an abundance of natural daylight retaining many of its original features. Both rooms are suitable to host meetings in a variety of room layouts, up to 150 theatre style, dinners for up to 120 and cocktail parties for up to 170 guests. The Lutyens Suite benefits from direct access to the Courtyard – a tranquil space set back from the road and offering an ideal environment for summer barbecues and receptions.

Additional outdoor spaces at BMA House include the physic Garden to the rear of the house, featuring plants with medicinal properties and a pond.The Garden provides a fantastic location for a drinks reception.

Adjacent to the Garden is the Garden Room, a contemporary space with modern bar which offers the ideal retreat for inclement weather, and has a capacity of up to 90 guests standing.

The Council Chamber is a purpose built meeting facility suitable for AGM’s, Debates and Meetings with a capacity of up to 97 delegates and speakers. The Chamber is complimented by cutting edge Audio Visual equipment.

The purpose built meeting rooms within BMA House vary from the Carter Room – a stylish boardroom for 12, several smaller syndicate rooms, ranging to the larger Harvey Room, Courtyard Suite and Black Suite accommodating up to 150 guests theatre style. All rooms allow flexible seating arrangements to include cabaret, classroom and u-shape.
